About Us

The Bodmin & Wenford Railway welcomes pre-booked groups on any of our services.

Travelling as a pre-booked group not only provides a discount on your ticket price for our standard train services but it also includes reserved seating in our trains, if required, and other services not normally available.  Group travel is available for pre-booked groups of ten or more persons.

Discounts apply on all Red, Blue and Green Timetable days as shown in our Timetable calendarDiscounts may also be available on certain Gold Days, please contact us to discuss your requirements.

Groups of 25 or more persons will receive 20% discount and groups of 10 to 24 will receive a 10% discount.
Discounts are not normally available on our Dining Trains but a discount may be available on Steam, Beer & Jazz and Murder Mystery Trains and on the Scenic Railcar Cruise.

We recommend that you start and finish your journey at Bodmin General as this provides the best access to the train especially for anyone with any physical impairment.   Access at Bodmin Parkway station is via a bridge with steps and the nearest road access to Boscarne Junction is approximately 800 yards away.

The best value ticket is for the whole line round trip and this normally takes about 2 hours but you can do a journey of 40 to 50 minutes if required.  The whole line journey is, for example, Bodmin General to Boscarne Junction and return then on to Bodmin Parkway and back.   The shorter return journeys are from Bodmin General to either Boscarne Junction (40 minutes) or to Bodmin Parkway (50 minutes).

Other services available include:-

  • Cornish Cream Tea served during the journey – 2 scones with jam and Cornish clotted cream, tea or coffee.  Price £4.25 per person including VAT.

  • Food options include traditional Cornish Pasties, sandwiches, assorted buffets, fish/sausage and chips and more.  Please tell us of your requirements.

  •  Guided tours of Bodmin General Station including locomotive shed and maintenance workshops and usually available free of charge.

Please see our Timetable page to plan your visit. Click on the date to see the timetable for the day.  If we are not running on the day you require we may be able to run a train especially for you.

All prices quoted on this site include VAT where relevant but please note that there is no VAT on train travel.

We will be delighted to assist with your booking and can be contacted by or by phone Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm on 0845 1259678
